Privacy policy
Northstar TV collects as little as possible: enough to deliver your subscription and support you, and nothing more. This page says exactly what that means, in plain English rather than boilerplate.

What we collect
- Your WhatsApp number. It is how you order, how we send your credentials and setup guide, and how we recognize you when you come back with a question. It is the only contact detail we hold.
- Payment confirmation. Our payment provider processes the transaction and tells us it succeeded. We never see or store a card number and we have nowhere to put one.
- Subscription and technical data. Your plan, your term and, if you use a portal box, the MAC address you give us. Our servers log connection times, IP addresses and error events so we can diagnose faults and enforce the one-connection limit.
We do not ask for your name, your home address, your date of birth or any identity document, because none of those are needed to deliver a streaming service.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with anyone, for any amount.
- We do not publish or resell your phone number.
- We do not build advertising profiles or run behavioral retargeting.
- We do not send marketing messages you did not ask for.
- We do not keep a record of what you watch beyond the server logs needed to fix faults.
For the avoidance of doubt under the California Consumer Privacy Act: in the past twelve months we have not sold personal information, and we have not shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Why we hold each thing
- To deliver what you paid for. Your WhatsApp number, plan details and credentials exist so the service can reach you.
- To keep the service working. Server logs for diagnostics, fraud prevention and enforcing the connection limit.
- Because the law requires it. Payment records retained for accounting and tax.
- To see which pages are worth keeping. Anonymous analytics, and any optional message you asked to receive. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing here to bargain over: no advertising pixels, no profiling, and nothing sold or shared. Analytics does not load at all if your browser asks it not to, and you can stop the optional messages by telling us to.
How long we keep it
- Active subscription data: for the life of the subscription plus twelve months, so a renewal keeps your rate.
- WhatsApp conversations: twelve months, so we have context if you return with the same problem.
- Payment records: seven years, as US accounting and tax rules require.
- Server connection logs: thirty days, then deleted automatically.
- Google Analytics data: fourteen months, then deleted automatically by Google.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of third parties, each handling only what it needs: a payment provider to take payment, WhatsApp (Meta) to carry our conversations and deliver your credentials, Google Analytics for anonymous website statistics, and hosting and content delivery providers for the website and the streaming infrastructure. Messages you send us are subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms as well as this policy. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers or affiliates.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and where visitors arrive from. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_<id>) holding a randomly generated identifier so returning visits are not counted twice. They expire after two years.
What Google Analytics records for us:
- the pages you view on this site, and how long you spend on them;
- the site or search engine you arrived from;
- your approximate location, derived from your IP address at state or city level;
- your device type, browser, screen size and language.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your full IP address. We do not use this data for advertising or remarketing, we do not combine it with your subscription details, and we cannot identify you personally from it. We run no advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers of any kind.
If you would rather not be counted, block cookies in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install Google’s official Analytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do. We also honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser or an extension sends that signal, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set. Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo send it by default, so for those visitors this is already the case without changing a setting.
Your rights
Residents of California, and of other states with comparable privacy laws including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and Texas, have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information deleted once your subscription has ended and accounting rules allow;
- opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, which in our case is nothing, because we do neither;
- not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
Message us on WhatsApp at +44 7454 755798 and we will respond within forty-five days. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. If you are unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to your state attorney general.
Security
Credentials are stored on access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. We will never ask you for card details, account passwords or remote access to your computer. If anyone claiming to be us does, it is not us; stop, and tell us about it.
Children
The service is sold to people aged eighteen or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. Material changes affecting existing customers are notified on WhatsApp. Related pages: terms and conditions and refund policy.
